I’m Sarina Ponte, a mental health therapist specialized in eating disorders and addiction. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I went on to receive my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Denver in 2019. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through IAEDP and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor.  I have worked in several levels of care - residential, inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient therapy. Over the past few years, I have tailored my experience to be skilled in the area of eating disorders and addiction. Through my training as an addictions counselor, I am skilled in understanding how our brains protect us in unhealthy ways - drugs, disordered eating, relationships, etc. While offering one on one therapy, I will bring a self-empowerment and confidence-building approach. Through an Acceptance and Commitment Theory lens, I will work alongside you to align yourself with your values and move forward in your healing journey.

When I am not providing therapy or reading one of the many books on my shelf, I love to spend time with my three rambunctious pups. From walks on the beach, kayaking on the water, or cuddling up on the couch, the three of them keep me on my toes. They are sure to make an appearance here and there when on a telehealth call. I also love to spend time with friends, and shopping. I am on a mission to find the best ice cream in Hawaii (a search that I am not rushing to finish).

I am passionate about providing compassionate and comprehensive treatment. Having struggled with my own body image issues, I know the flexibility required for growth and change. Using a value focused, strengths based approach, let us bring you back to the road of recovery.
